The location of Pension Nikolas is the ideal starting point for getting to know the traditional town of Skiathos, close to the new harbour, the old harbour and the main street, Papadiamantis Street. It is very close to the church of Trion Ierarchon with its square and the seven long and narrow stone steps that guide you down to the old harbour and to the wonderful Bourtzi islet. Along this harbour you can choose restaurants, tavernas and café-bars at your leisure. From here you can take one of the early morning kaikis departing for a tour around the islands, the little island of Tsougria and also the unique beach of Lalaria. From Papadiamantis Street you can walk down towards the new harbour where you will find shops, banks, restaurants and cafes. At the far end of the new harbour there is a bus terminus for the Skiathos to Koukounaries bus route which has a regular timetable and stops all along the main road for access to the different beaches. For the nearby beach of Megali Amos you can walk about 10 minutes – up Papadiamantis Street until you reach the Acropolis area. Then take the road that leads down to meet the first beach. |

WHERE YOU CAN FIND US After you leave the harbour, walk up Papadiamantis Street until you reach the National Bank. From the first corner of the bank turn left and walk in front of the Taverna Mouria. Continue straight on the picturesque cobbled road for the last 50 metres. A memorable experience awaits you at Pension Nikolas. Η θέση της Pension Nikolas αποτελεί ένα ιδανικό σημείο για να ξεκινήσετε μια πρώτη γνωριμία με την παραδοσιακή πόλη της Σκιάθου, τα όρια της οποίας ήταν από το νέο λιμάνι και το παλιό λιμάνι έως και την οδό Παπαδιαμάντη. Σε απόσταση αναπνοής θα συναντήσετε την εκκλησία των Τριών Ιεραρχών με την πλατεία της, στην συνέχεια τα επτά μακρόστενα πέτρινα σκαλιά που σας οδηγούν στο παλιό λιμάνι και στο υπέροχο Μπούρτζι. Εκεί μπορείτε να επιλέξετε εστιατόρια, ταβέρνες, καφέ-μπαρ για τη διασκέδασή σας. Από εδώ τα πρωινά αναχωρούν καΐκια για το γύρο του νησιού, για το νησάκι Τσουγκριά και για τη μοναδική παραλία Λαλάρια.
Την οδό Παπαδιαμάντη που σας οδηγεί από και προς το νέο λιμάνι, θα την βαδίζετε καθημερινά, καθώς αποτελεί το σημείο αναφοράς της πόλης και εκεί θα βρείτε εμπορικά καταστήματα, τράπεζες, εστιατόρια και καφετερίες.
Στην άκρη του λιμανιού υπάρχει η αφετηρία των λεωφορείων, με τακτικότατα δρομολόγια της γραμμής Σκιάθος – Κουκουναριές και με ενδιάμεσες στάσεις σε διάφορες παραλίες.
Για την κοντινότερη παραλία, τη Μεγάλη Άμμο, θα περπατήσετε περίπου δέκα λεπτά, ανεβαίνοντας την Παπαδιαμάντη ως την περιοχή της Ακρόπολης. Κατηφορίζοντας το δρόμο θα συναντήσετε την πρώτη παραλία.

ΠΩΣ ΘΑ ΜΑΣ ΒΡΕΙΤΕ: Μετά την έξοδό σας από το λιμάνι βαδίστε την οδό Παπαδιαμάντη μέχρι την Εθνική Τράπεζα. Από την πρώτη γωνία της τράπεζας βαδίστε αριστερά και περνώντας μπροστά από την ταβέρνα «Μουριά» συνεχίστε ευθεία το γραφικό καλντερίμι για τα τελευταία πενήντα μέτρα.
