The gently sloping Troulos beach is one of the best family-friendly beaches in Skiathos. It gets its name from the small islet shaped like a Christian Orthodox dome directly opposite the beach. You could even swim out to the islet if you’re a strong swimmer. Featuring a lush stretch of white sand and calm, crystal clear waters, there are various activities available to keep the whole family happy. Lifeguards are situated on the beach throughout the day so you can be sure you and the family will be in safe hands. There is a water sports school located on the beach and you also have the option to hire a motorboat. This is a great way to explore the more isolated beaches that cannot be accessed via road. Pool bars serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments and there are plenty of taverns and restaurants nearby too. Walking trails are available that will take you to the nearby Mandraki and Aselinos beaches.
Troulos beach has a very British feel due to the fact it attracts so many British tourists. It is quite a popular beach and therefore it can get busy during peak season. The nearby Troulos resort is considered the second busiest part of the island after Skiathos Town.
