Dear Lorraine, You must accept that a balanced view is critical for people who look at this site who have yet to visit Skiathos. There are pro's and con's for every destination and although some of us post critism's, they are from our own personal experiences. This year was the first time of visiting the Island in August. We have been twice before in May. What a difference a couple of months make. I am sure for people without children who can go June/early July and September, the Island is a paradise. This August even the taxi driver's were complaining about the " M25 " on Skiathos i.e. 50 minutes fro Koukounaries to Town. Troulos beach was like Blackpool, as far removed from paradise as you can get.
