although i think this is just an attempt to bring this bulleting board of ours out of hybernation, i cant help but contibute my 2 pennies worth....among things that must be changed i consider of high priority the fence around kukunaries forest. this reminds me of a german world war labor camp and must go. another issue that troubles me is the ring road: it reminds me of an industrial low class poor city neighborhood and couse all locals and turists use it daily, lots must be done to make it prettier. although iv seen improvement over the years we must never stop trying for better and politer services toward turists, especialy from public servants like police etch.undergoing now is the new building by the port on the flydolphin jetty, and when its finished(2006-before the summer starts) the shops and tiquet offices there will be better than the now situation. another job planned for 2006, is the works on our football stadium where a new hall has been already built (my doughter has ballet lessons there) and soon the grounds will be covered whith the new type (uefa aproved) plastic grass. must coment that our team (worst results in years) has got to get better as well!!!talk has it that a solution was finaly found and the airport will get the extended runway and perhaps some more parking space but i feel this can be done only by a magician(due to the involvement-a must- of central greek public work ministery beurocratic arsh...s).another issue is the movement of the now designated ancorage point of big boats that bring cars and lories, toward the shcool so traffic will go out of town to the ring road much easier.papadiamanties statue will be moved near the beggining of the main street but the park has to go to create space for parking and manuvering the big trucks. this is not as bad as it sounds for in the summer iv seen gypsies set shop and sleeping quorters in the park creating a havoc and garbage.unfortunately after the old fiasko whith the marina nothing seems in the horizon but this is a dream for many of us that want a port protected from the south winds, im a strong beleiver as well that this project can bring much business even out of season ( by mehanics and boat owners). i hope that all these and many more will be done, let us not forget this coming year we have elections, and my vote will go for the prosperous benefit of skiathos.
