The Platanos Restaurant is situated on the highest part of Skiathos, offering fantastic views over the island. The quaint, picturesque Profitis Ilias church is located right next door and beautiful plane trees surround the establishment. Open from early morning until late in the evening, the restaurant is known for serving up mouth-watering home cooked Greek meals. If you do visit in the morning you’ll discover a great range of breakfast items and coffee on the menu. It is a café-restaurant offering a family friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Just some of the most popular dishes that you won’t want to miss include Baklava, Soutzoukakia and Caitiff desserts. There are also daily fresh fish dishes available, serving up locally caught produce.
It is worth noting that the Platanos restaurant does tend to get quite busy in the evenings so booking in advance is recommended. At all other times it is typically quieter and you can expect nothing but the best service. Due to its location you will need some form of transportation to get there. There are jeep tours available that provide a stop-off at the restaurant so this is something worth looking into if you fancy trying something a little different.
