On the North Western side of the island, the most relaxing beaches are offering beautiful clean and fresh water, very laid back atmosphere and great views up to the main land.

The biggest is Mandraki Elias, lying in a sheltered bay with mainly on the left side of the beach, shallow and very safe water, very suitable for children.

The beach kantina there is fantastic, very atmospheric and plain, in a real nice way.

At some parts of the beach, people will be swimming and sunbathing nude, although the beach is not officially characterized as a nude beach. It is just the type of beach that feels so natural, that sunbathing without a bathing suit feels very free.
On the right side of Mandraki Elias, the smaller beach called Agistros is located. A first visit here feels like discovering paradise....

The beach is always very peaceful, the water can be extremely fresh and clean, and there usually blows a refreshing breeze, that makes sunbathing bearable, and dangerous at the same time, because you get roasted before you know it.

Here again a nice and plain cantina can offer food, refreshments and a cooling shade.
Mandraki Xerxes is an intriguing bay, as it has a steep sand wall on the back, making it very sheltered. This can sometimes make it very warm, when there is no breeze.

The myth goes that in the ancient years the Persians under Xerxes rule landed there to conquer the island.

Maybe you will find traces to to confirm this if you dig in the sand deep enough?
