One of the popular sandy beaches in Skiathos, Vassilias beach is well-organised and it’s been awarded given a Blue Flag status. This means the sand and water quality is of an exceptional standard. There are a number of facilities on the beach that contribute to its popularity. Water sports, sunbeds and umbrellas are provided and water taxis run regularly to take you to Skiathos town. The beach is actually split into two different parts. One part is pretty close to the town and it has a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The second part is where you’ll find the water sports school and a tavern. It has a slightly livelier ambience, though it still remains quieter than some of the other beaches such as Megali Ammos and Koukounaries. There are a lot of hotels near this part of the beach which also contributes to it being slightly busier.
Vassilias beach is protected from strong north winds thanks to being placed at the bottom of a slope. There are a few bus stops located nearby providing easy access to the town and other nearby beaches. Trees and bushes create a nice shady border around the beach, helping to cool you down on the really hot days.
